Films you must watch
Following on from the "Films you haven't seen" thread.

If you could tell somebody the ONE film they should watch that they haven't seen, what would it be?

It's difficult as there are so many that would make my top 10 that it's hard to say the ONE film I'd recommend.

Would have to probably say.. Goodfellas.

You lot?

Depends who you're talking to.

Remains of the Day is one of the most finely observed films of all time.

Top Gun is a joy for any adult/adolescent.

The list goes on.

you'd have to go for something with real meaning behind a great story, that was perfectly directed and filmed, something to make someone think - Herbie Goes Bananas

I see the Godfather stuff a fair bit on the other thread. Not just a mafia film.

You could read the book though. Read it when I was young. Lot more sexually graphic than the movie and very vivid in other ways. The Rizzi death scene in the movie is great, kicking through the window, but in the book, you get the smell of him evacuating his bowels and it seemed more visceral.

Someone at work the other day said they had never seen 'Shallow Grave' that is one of my all time favourites. I strongly advised him it was well worth a watch.
